The Tramontane was huffing today – the Northerly wind which whips in from the Atlantic, across France and flumps down across Languedoc Roussillon – lots of moody scenery and the mountains protecting Languedoc were all piled up waiting in the wings.
Although it was a public holiday today, a Notaire opened his office for a client so they could complete the purchase of a house near Beziers. This final act (the Acte) of buying a house is a pleasant experience and it is great to see everybody happy, the seller, the buyer, the Notaire and the agents – all have a role to play and all come away from the meeting with either the keys or a cheque.
My clients, the buyers, left the UK this morning in heavy rain and with sheet lightning around the M25. Ryanair warned them that the weather was just as bad in Montpellier, but they found our blustery day mild in comparison.
