Well not really “day one”, I have been licensed and working in real estate for a long time in France, but for this blog I consider it my first day at school.
This morning I am meeting American clients who want advice about investing in France first for rental properties and then in a few years to have a home for retirement.
This is a very complex set of questions including involving taxation, optimum returns and (in my opinion one of the most important points) their “comfort zone” for property and investment.
I will be writing a lot more about the comfort zone factor in future blogs and – where possible- quote real examples.
Today we are starting on the coastline of Languedoc, from Sete to Agde, looking at apartment leisure rentals for investment , I will be comparing this to inland village properties and student rentals in a main city like Montpellier.
The experience I have gained over the years from meetings like these today saves clients a great deal of time and money. I know this sounds like pretentious sales rubbish, but is it the essence of what I am trying to do with my time, these blogs and my websites.
