More Mechanical Than Rude

Today was a day of plaster and paint – I find it hard to work on Internet sites or blogs if I am thinking about mixtures of jointing materials and grouting – so hence a short and aimless (nothing new) piece today.

I have always found it hard to recommend people to do building work here in the South of France – I generally do most of my own and have a few specialist tradesmen who help – about the only person I have used consistently for over 15 years is a wonderful ‘plaquiste’ (a person who fixes and coats plasterboard) – he is retired and even has painted on the side of his van ‘retired, all work refused’ (in French of course) – but he will help me for a couple of days at a time if I am stuck and need a very high quality finish to my work.

It is still bitterly cold, although the longer evenings and lighter morning are a bonus – for the first time I have seen ice on the driveway stay there all day and some lumps of snow from Monday are still evident, thank goodness for our electric blanket.

You know that I am a famous interior house painter right? If I was there I would help you.(I did paint the interior of our new house from sheetrock up, including ceilings……took two years :) ))) (but that included all the windows and doors and baseboard moldings, sanded, stained, sanded, clear coat).

It is warming up here and the snow is going quickly. Yayyyy….off to Amsterdam in one month. BIG yayyyyyyy.
